What began as a personal exploration into meaningful design has evolved into a systems-led business focused on creating adaptable tools for everyday life—products that move people physically and emotionally. Whether it’s CNC-cut furniture for compact spaces or prototyping a metabolic device, the goal remains the same: to build small-scale innovations that deliver lasting impact.
This journey hasn’t followed a straight line. It’s been shaped by learning, reflection, and persistence. Along the way, I’ve studied case studies, explored what makes businesses succeed, and worked through challenges using structured tools like SWOT and PESTLE analysis—alongside plenty of personal soul-searching. That mix of strategic thinking and emotional clarity continues to guide every decision I make.

Our Tools
Our Tools & Workflow
At Libre, we use a carefully chosen set of open-source and modular tools to design, prototype, and manufacture our products. These tools reflect our commitment to transparency, sustainability, and precision.
Design & CAD
We rely on FreeCAD for all our design work—from simple 2D layouts to complex assemblies. Its parametric modeling capabilities allow us to iterate quickly and build modular systems that scale. If you need something made come and speak with us and we can handle the CAD aspects.
CAM & CNC Routing
Our in-house 3-axis CNC router is powered by FreeCAD CAM, which—despite being under active development—has proven reliable for most machining tasks. For part nesting and layout optimization, we use Deepnest.io, a powerful open-source tool that helps us minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
Where we need to convert images ( such as svg images) to CNC paths or where we need to work with complex text we use Inkscape
Electronics & Controls
For embedded systems and interactive prototypes, we use Arduino boards and the Arduino IDE. These tools allow us to rapidly test ideas and integrate responsive controls into our experimental devices.
